"Wanna Bwack One!"

We went to the feed store to pick up the baby chicks for our new spring flock. Kaleb chose a "Bwack One". He did a fantastic job holding, petting and playing with Black One. He even put it "night-night" in his Crock shoe. I was initially against the idea, but I eventually realized that it was a very cozy fit for the little girl.

Gabby named her chick, the Golden SexLink, "Rosita-SallyJones". The Rosita portion is used to honor the late "Rosie", Gabby's first chicken, who was eaten by a dog last winter. Gabby and Kaia have spent the last few days holding the chickens constantly, out on the trampoline, and giggling at their little chick nuances. Gabby is so maternal and gentle, that hers constantly falls asleep in her arms. Kaia has not yet settled on the perfect name for her Red Sex Link. She is dabbling with "Flyer" and "Trixie".
