Dahoom-Dohray!

We went to pick up our Grizwold..ahem..I mean Yonemoto Family Christmas Tree at Mikey's Tree Lot on the Sunday night after we got home from Tahoe.  Gabby was judging each Noble Fir by it's fragrance, and she was convinced that some trees were more fragrant than others.  Kaia has a heart for the Charlie Brown trees.  Each bedraggled tree that she dragged us all over to see, was PITIFUL!! They were either totally bald on one side, completely slouched, or had branches going in every which way directions.  She gave each of them their own latin nomenclature (completely made up by her, of course).  Kaleb ran around the lot in circles, to generate heat I suppose, or just for the heck of it. He also enjoyed watching the manly tree men do their work.  Afterwards, we went home and Gene made turkey pot pie with the leftover turkey from Gammy's birthday the previous night.  The kids had hot cocoa and watched Toy Story 3, while we watched Love Actually and enjoyed the aroma of pine and turkey pot pie.

Today, I decorated the tree with the kids.  Gabby must have proclaimed up on a mountaintop that she "LOVES CHRISTMAS!!  IT'S MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY IN THE WHOLE WORLD!" a hundred times.  She even got a bit choked up as she talked about how happy it made her to decorate the tree with her family, " I feel like I...Might Cry!" she mentioned theatrically.  They enjoyed finding all their own special ornaments and placing them accordingly.  Gabby told me that she likes the "Spirit of Christmas" the most because it is the most important thing.  She then proceeded to explain that the Spirit of Christmas is a man that tells everyone what to do for Christmas. I set her straight.  The girls played make believe games with little christmas teddy bears and little crafty turtle doves for the rest of the night.

..Pictures to come
