I love my 6am (sometimes 5:30, sometimes 5:00 :-/) mini dates with Kaia. She gently wakes me up with the cheeriest disposition imaginable. If I don't get up, she comes back and does it again. We sit by the fire and sip hot cocoa and coffee. If she's dressed and ready for school, she might dabble in some drawing or 3DS. Otherwise we just snuggle, sip, and soak up the fire's warmth and eachother. She sits in the bean bag chair with me, enveloped in her fuzzy robe, adorned by a crown of terribly tousled hair. She says things like "This is the BEST", "It's really relaxing by the fire..just enjoying ourselves", "I suppose today is gonna be a great day!", "How bout...pancakes? We did wake up early..after all", "Do you think Benny is the cutest child that ever lived?". She can hardly contain her joy at the present situation and it seeps outward in the form of squeals, shakes, and toothy grins.
