Sock Hop at Monarch Grove
Penny had a friend come over on Friday, Lucille, who is in fourth grade. Then we all went to the Sock Hop in our fifties gear. Gabby was bad Sandy and Kaia wore a dress of her Gammy's, made by Gammy's mother. Penny had fun doing the Marilyn Monroe over the air conditioner. Kaleb was a ninja turtle. Kaia got asked to dance by her buddy Tyler. She had the "Jibblies" to say the least.

Sittin' On The Dock of The Bay...
Morning date with Benny. This chap and I went to a cafe by the bay and he woo'ed about 38 new friends with his footsies, Raybans, and dance moves.
Very First Thing He Wanted To Write...
In actuality, all he wants is for them to want to come to his room and validate him. Or to allow him in their room for Pete's sake.
New Shoes
I picked up some cowgirl boots and some Clark's (loafers? I dunno.) for Gabby and Kaleb at the children's consignment store. They put on a little fashion show for the camera. Kaleb was really concerned with what constituted a "Boy Pose" and a "Girl Pose". He was really trying to emulate his inner man in those "handshum" shoes.
Alone at Last...YUMMIES!
Some days are so jam packed that there is little to no time to just take a few minutes for a special nursing sesh, devoted solely to Baby-Mommy connection. Trust me, this guy gets fed plenty, but I'm typically doing something else, if not several other things, simultaneously. So I love to take 10 minutes after we drop off ms. penny at school, and just sit in the car with Benny, just looking right in his eyes while he has some late morning yums. He bats at my face and smiles and coos. Eventually he starts rotating his feet up towards my face, attempting to put his toes in my mouth and nose, I suppose...that's when I call the game, and he goes in his seat and it's back to the grind. It's heavenly.
"Somebody's Been Sleeping in Myyy Bed!"
Bennylocks crashed in Kaia's bed while she was at school. He found it to be neither too hard, nor too soft.

Date with My Benst
We officially have a ritual. On mornings that I drive into SLO to run errands, we stop at this yummy sushi spot that I found by accident one day, parched and desperate for green ice tea. He sits on my lap and we INHALE a giant spider roll, a cabbage salad and a huge green ice tea with lemons and honey. Not a word is spoken until I have too tear home away from the table as he cries and desperately reaches for the plate. I think we need to get two spider rolls next time!

Benny at 12 Months
He says "Noooooo!" with a very compelling tone and a very concerned look on his face. He slaps me in the face and laughs. He says, "Dic-uh,Dic-uh,Dic-uh,Dic-uh, Dic-uh...", typically in bed, during dark hours of the early morning. He says"Mama" or "Mom", as well as "Dada". He loves to get silly and goofy. He hates to get pulled away from the big kid playground at school. He plays cars with Kaleb and says "Brum-Brum". He yelps like a baby bird when he sees food we are eating and wants some. I recently shared a spider roll, a garden salad, some pad Thai, and some chili with him. There's ZIP. He won't eat. Plus, he can smell a piece of Halloween candy being chewed rather discreetly in my mouth and he will stick his grimy little fingers In to pull some of it out and taste for himself. His favorite is chewed up snickers. He still loves hanging out in Kaia's room and doodling in her journal. He got a cozy coupe for his birthday from Grandma Annie and can be found running errands all over the house. He is a pill when I'm doing dishes, as he tries with every fiber in his chubby white body to pull out knives from the dishwasher.
Items I collected being smuggled into school this morning...
Two super sharp arrowheads(kaleb)
One bronze swimming metal(gabby)
One super top secret 4th grade journal, filled with volumes of Gabby-Bashing(Kaia)
