Easter at the Park with Alfernesses and Adcocks
Easter sand pails were left filled with goodies. Kaia got a kite, the book Little Women, and a pack of smelly colored pencils. Gabby got an ornate golden egg in a golden box,and the dvd Wizard of Oz. Kaleb got a red lantern and a mega pack of water balloons. Penny got the book Llama, Llama, Red Pajama and a green lantern. We enjoyed some family time at uncle Phil's local park on Easter Sunday. We ate ceviche, chips, and mexican cheese for our appetizer, along with Uncle Phil's spinach and breadbowl dip and Heather's hot cross buns. We ate grilled skewers filled with shrimp, marinated chicken and beef, and veggies, along with a tasty grilled cheese sandwich salad, and aunt Carla's colorful mini jello eggs (or are they jelly bean shaped??). These two dreamboats managed to match beautifully!Egg hunting was standard. Gabby retrieved about 80% of them. The little's just looked charming and magical. Aunt Carla filled some eggs with little toys and treasures, which was an exciting surprise for the kids. Kaia scored a headband. Kaleb found an egg with some lovely yellow Easter socks (meant for girlies) that he had to cease hunting, to put on. Everyone found an army guy or two.Kaia made things interesting with some of her classic dance moves.Gabby was sweet and happy. We all enjoyed sitting in the warm sunshine, sipping cold drinks, and chatting. The girls worked on sewing the felt dolls that they were working on. The kids also had fun in the sand box with their new sand pails, brought by the Easter bunny that morning. We celebrated birthdays at Uncle Phil's afterwards with gifts, coffee, and cupcakes. Gabby finally got the Rock Tumbler that she has been saving up for! (4 weeks of tumbling later, she showered her teachers with shiny rock necklaces, rings, and earrings!)
