A Heavy Heart...

Kaia came home from school yesterday a bit heavier. She told me that some 5th grade girls told her to "Go away" in a mean way and that they were "Having a private club" that didn't include her. Fair enough...
They also told her "You're weird" ("in the bad way, not the good way"-Kaia)
Then, with a lip quiver, a crack in her voice and tear-filled eyes, she says,"It made my heart heavy."(gee, I wonder why she isn't blending in with the Tweens of 2012...)

I told her that girls are going to act like that more often than not in junior high and high school. I told her to remember that when they treat her that way, it's not a reflection of her, but rather a reflection of their insecurity. Its sad when people don't like themselves!

Here she is being totally accepted and understood by her friend Tyler.
